ADHD and other medications for children and teenagers

Overview

The Child, Adolescent and Family Interest Group is pleased to invite members to an upcoming webinar presented by Dr Roger Peterson, Psychiatrist.  

The one-hour webinar will provide an update on the most commonly used medications in children and teenagers for ADHD, but will also discuss other medications for common comorbid conditions such as anxiety and depression. Followed by a Q&A.

Targeted audience

This activity is aimed at psychologists and health professionals.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this event, participants should be able to:

  • gain up to date knowledge on commonly prescribed medications for children and adolescents for ADHD, and
  • develop their understanding of other commonly used medications for presentations commonly co-occurring with ADHD, such as anxiety and depression in children and adolescents.

Dr Roger Paterson

About the presenter(s)

Dr Roger Paterson (MBBS, FRCPsych, FRANZCP, Certificate child psychiatry) graduated in medicine from the University of WA, and subsequently trained in child and adult psychiatry in London and Perth. After 7 years of a mixed public/private practice, he moved to full-time private practice in 1996 with special interests in eating disorders and ADHD. His ADHD activities include clinical, educational, research and Board membership of both the Australian ADHD Professionals Association and his local community support group, ADHD WA. He is also a foundation Committee member of the RANZCP ADHD Network.
