Psychological treatments for older adult depression and anxiety: An overview of psychologist and general practitioner experiences and perspectives

Closes 17 August 2026

What's this project about?

The aim of this project is to better understand psychologists' perspectives of barriers older adults face in accessing mental health care for depression and anxiety.

Why is this research important?

Utilisation rates of mental health care are disproportionately low for older adults despite notable incidence of depression and anxiety. Psychologist perspectives have not yet been directly explored. Your input will help drive greater understanding and meaningful improvements in older adult mental health care!

Who can participate?

Psychologists with general registration with AHPRA are invited to participate. All areas of endorsement are welcome. Unfortunately, provisionally registered psychologists are not eligible to participate.

What's involved?

A ~15 minute online, anonymous questionnaire. The questionnaire will start with consent, research and contact information.
