$100 discount on APS Institute eLearning for APS members

All APS members* are eligible for a $100 discount for APS Institute eLearning programs, valid for registration for one eLearning program of your choice between 31 July and 31 December 2014.

The eLearning program can be completed at a time of your convenience, but for the discount to apply you must register for your selected eLearning program between 31 July and 31 December 2014. The discount will be automatically applied when you register for the eLearning program.

The discount offer is also applicable to part 1 and part 3 of the Psychology Board-approved supervisor training.

Fundamentals of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT): V2 2014

This course consists of seven (7) modules covering the fundamental principles underpinning CBT, ethical considerations, culturally and linguistically diverse applications, client assessment, case conceptualisation, structure of therapy, behaviourally focused interventions, cognitively focused interventions, behavioural experiments, and core belief work. ATAPS telephone delivered cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) training

This training on the telephone delivery of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (T-CBT) is aimed at providing best-practice guidelines, resources and reference materials for allied health providers working under the Better Outcomes in Mental Health Care (BOiMHC) Access to Allied Psychological Services (ATAPS) program. eHealth for Practitioners: V2 2014

eHealth for Practitioners is an online short course for allied health practitioners. This course provides the opportunity to complete CPD online at your own pace, in your own time and, for APS members, provides 10 hours of CPD. Details and register

Chronic disease self-management training: Behavioural interventions

This first course in chronic disease self-management training has been designed for health professionals working with clients suffering from a chronic disease. The course was originally developed by the Australian Psychological Society with funding from the Commonwealth Government Department of Health and Ageing. In addition to an introduction to the topic of chronic disease self-management, the course covers four modules that address the interdisciplinary collaborative model of care, communication skills, motivational interviewing goal setting and techniques, and psychosocial impacts of chronic disease.

This course provides the opportunity to complete CPD online at your own pace, in your own time and, for APS members, provides 8 hours of CPD. Details and register

Fundamentals of Private Practice Part A: Establishing Your Practice

This online course is designed to expand your thinking about issues to be considered prior to setting up a practice; to introduce you to the essential and fundamental best practice steps to take when establishing your new business; and to introduce the relevant ethical and compliance issues associated with running a private practice.

The course is designed for psychologists looking to develop a private practice. On completion of this course, you will have a greater awareness of business processes and strategies and greater knowledge of resources that can assure the quality, viability and ongoing development of your proposed practice.Details and register

Fundamentals of Private Practice Part B: Expanding and Selling your Practice

This online course examines relevant ethical and compliance issues associated with running a private practice and offers options for improving, extending and reinvigorate or, alternatively, disposing of a practice.

The course is designed for psychologists developing or consolidating an existing private practice. On completion of this course, you will have a greater awareness of business processes and strategies and greater knowledge of resources that can assure the quality, viability and potential of your practice. Details and register

Suicide prevention professional development training

This professional development training package for allied health workers working under the ATAPS Suicide Prevention Service is designed to provide support to people in the community who are at risk of suicide or self-harm and is delivered though Divisions of General Practice and Medicare Locals. Details and register

The Kimberley way: Indigenous suicide prevention training

This training package around Indigenous suicide prevention for allied health professionals working in the Kimberley region. The aim of the Indigenous Suicide Prevention Training is to develop an allied health professional’s understanding of suicide prevention specific to individuals and communities within the Kimberley region. Children's Mental Health Service Professional Development Training: Fundamentals (CMH Fundamentals)

The Australian Psychological Society (APS), with the funding of the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing, has developed a professional development training package for allied health clinicians working under the ATAPS Children's Mental Health Service (CMHS). 

In order for mental health professionals to acquire/retain their eligibility to work under the ATAPS CMHS initiative, this course must be completed within 12 months of them commencing ATAPS CMHS services. Details and register

Children's Mental Health Service Professional Development Training: Enhanced (CMH Enhanced)

The Australian Psychological Society (APS), with the funding of the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing, has developed a professional development training package for allied health clinicians working under the ATAPS Children's Mental Health Service (CMHS). 

This course in this on-line ATAPS CMHS training program are designed to up-skill the current ATAPS workforce and also extend the skills and knowledge of more experienced clinicians in order to assist ATAPS providers to work effectively with children (aged between 0-11 years of age) who have, or are at risk of developing, a mental disorder and their families. Details and register
