Fee reduction

Full-time student

APS members (Affiliates, Associates, Members and Fellows) who are full-time students of either an APAC-accredited degree or a postgraduate research degree in psychology are eligible for the student membership rate.  They are also eligible for the student rate for any College and Interest Group membership that are held.

Reduced income

APS members on a reduced income due to maternity/paternity leave, illness or financial hardship are eligible for either a 50% or 25% reduction in membership fees, depending on their level of income.  They are also eligible for waiving of the fee for one College where membership is held, as well as one Interest Group.

Reduced income and part-time student

APS members on a reduced income who are also part-time students of either an APAC-accredited degree or a postgraduate research degree in psychology are eligible for the student membership rate. They are also eligible for the student rate for any College and Interest Group memberships that are held.

Senior members with long-standing APS membership

1. APS members who are 65 years or older (as at 31 May) and have held APS membership for at least 15 years are eligible for an automatic 50% reduction in membership fees. They are also eligible for waiving of the fee for one College where membership is held, as well as one Interest Group. If you think you are eligible for this reduction and are not yet receiving it, please contact membership@psychology.org.au.

2. APS members who are 70 years or older (as at 31 May) and have held APS membership for at least 20 years are eligible for an automatic 75% reduction in membership fees. They are also eligible for waiving of the fee for one College where membership is held, as well as one Interest Group. If you think you are eligible for this reduction and are not yet receiving it, please contact membership@psychology.org.au (effective from 1 June 2013)

Temporary overseas residence

APS members residing overseas on a temporary basis (to a maximum of five consecutive years) are eligible for a 50% reduction in membership fees.

Graduate Reductions

 

1. Applicants for the grade of Member who have completed their 5th and 6th year course requirements within 12 months of the date of application are entitled to a 50% discount of their membership subscription.

2. Applicants for the grade of Member who have completed their 5th and 6th year course requirements between 12 and 24 months of the date of application are entitled to a 25% discount of their membership subscription.

3. Applicants for the grade of Associate Member who have completed their 4th year course requirements within 12 months of the date of application are entitled to a 33% discount of their membership subscription.
