The APS NT Branch Territorian of the Year Award recognizes outstanding community contributions to mental health awareness, promotion and service in the Northern Territory (NT).

Administration

(a) The Northern Territory Branch is responsible for administering the Award and for funding the Award.

(b) The National Committee for the Northern Territory Branch will appoint a selection committee comprising of at least three (3) members of the Northern Territory Branch, to be responsible for recommending an appropriate Award winner to the Board.

(c) The Award will be presented during National Psychology Week each year.

(d) The Award will be presented by a member of the Northern Territory Branch Committee.

Eligibility

(a) Nominees need not be a member of the Society.

(b) Nominees must reside in the Northern Territory.

(c) Nominees need not be a psychologist.

Nomination process

(a) The selection committee will call for nominations through bulk email to members of the Northern Territory Branch.

(b) Nominations should include a one page description of the contribution made to mental health awareness, promotion and service.

Selection criteria

The selection committee will have regard to the nominee’s furthering awareness of mental health issues, service to mental health clients and promotion of mental health in the Northern Territory.

Value of the award

Successful candidates for the APS NT Branch Territorian of the Year Award will receive a commemorative plaque to be presented during a Northern Territory Branch National Psychology Week event.
