The APS Board recently approved the establishment of the Early Career Advisory Group (ECAG) comprised of APS early career members. The aims of this volunteer Group are to engage, connect, and support other early career psychologists. This Group acts as a channel between early career members and the APS to communicate current issues and concerns.

ECAG Terms of Reference:

  • To advise on initiatives of particular relevance and value to early career psychology professionals as part of a recruitment and retention strategy for this member segment
  • To assist in developing and implementing relevant vehicles (social media, mentor programs, networking opportunities) for engaging and connecting with fellow APS member early career psychologists and psychology professionals
  • To raise awareness of the benefits of APS membership for both APS member and non-APS member early career psychology professionals
  • To represent the issues and concerns of early career psychologists and psychology professionals to the APS.

The Group includes five formal positions, including a Chair with the four additional members selected to represent a range of areas of interest to the early career psychologist - e.g., career development, practitioner interests, academia, networking. The positions will run for two-year terms.
